Bun eatery urged not to raise prices

The city’s deputy mayor asked the Qingfeng Steamed Stuffed Bun restau­rant chain to main­tain its qual­ity and prices in the wake of its surg­ing pop­u­lar­ity. Pres­i­dent Xi Jin­ping vis­ited a Bei­jing branch of the chain in late De­cem­ber. Cheng Hong, the deputy mayor re­spon­si­ble for busi­ness, said on Wed­nes­day that Qingfeng should en­sure that its steamed buns main­tain their qual­ity, and the chain should not raise its prices. Cheng made the re­marks when she met with Zhu Yuling, head of the State-owned Bei­jing Hu­a­tian Cater­ing Group Corp, which owns the Qingfeng chain.
