The Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion, along with the Min­istry of Agri­cul­ture, will launch a train­ing pro­gram for pro­fes­sional farm­ers, “buy­ing” farm­ers’ time to have them ed­u­cated at sec­ondary vo­ca­tional schools, Liu said.

Other re­vi­sions to Li’s re­port on the work of the govern­ment in­clude “pro­mot­ing the use of new-en­ergy ve­hi­cles” to help check chok­ing smog, and “build­ing a har­mo­nious doc­tor-pa­tient re­la­tion­ship” to ad­dress the fes­ter­ing an­i­mos­ity that some pa­tients have to­ward doc­tors and other health pro­fes­sion­als in some hos­pi­tals.

The fi­nal ver­sion of the Govern­ment Work Re­port was mod­i­fied be­fore it was put up for a vote on Thurs­day. Six­teen re­vi­sions were made based on sug­ges­tions and pro­pos­als from NPC deputies. is added to the para­graph of “speed­ing up sci­en­tific sys­tem re­form”. The re­vi­sion is aimed at rais­ing the pub­lic’s aware­ness and re­spect for sci­ence.

is added to the para­graph of “push­ing for­ward med­i­cal re­form” to re­flect the ex­pec­ta­tions of people and so­ci­ety.

is added to the para­graph of “pre­vent­ing pol­lu­tion with iron fists” to pro­pel the in­dus­try’s de­vel­op­ment in an ef­fort to pre­serve en­ergy and cut emis­sions, as well as pre­vent and con­trol air pol­lu­tion. In the para­graph of

the pre­vi­ous sen­tence of “ex­plor­ing to es­tab­lish cross-re­gion and cross-river eco­log­i­cal com­pen­sa­tion mech­a­nism” is changed to “push­ing for­ward to es­tab­lish cross­re­gion and cross-river eco­log­i­cal com­pen­sa­tion mech­a­nism”. It is re­vised to show the govern­ment’s ac­tive at­ti­tude to­ward es­tab­lish­ing an eco­log­i­cal sub­sidy mech­a­nism.
