Govt re­wards cit­i­zens who fought ter­ror­ists

The govern­ment of Xin­jiang Uygur au­ton­o­mous re­gion gave 500,000 yuan ($80,000) as a re­ward to two groups of cit­i­zens who helped to fight ter­ror­ist ac­tiv­i­ties and vi­o­lent crimes, Xin­jiang Daily re­ported on Wed­nes­day. A group in Hotan who fought three ter­ror­ists at­tack­ing people in a game room on Sun­day was awarded 300,000. A group of cit­i­zens in Pis­han county, who cap­tured three ter­ror­ist sus­pects with ma­chetes, dag­gers and twelve ex­plo­sive de­vices in late May, re­ceived 200,000 yuan.
