Court not amused by showoff hacker

An IT engi­neer re­ceived a three­year sus­pended prison sen­tence on Wed­nes­day af­ter in­vad­ing a net­work server and steal­ing users’ data, Bei­jing Times re­ported on Thurs­day. The 30-year-old engi­neer, sur­named Wang, worked as a se­cu­rity test­ing engi­neer at a lo­cal com­pany. He hacked into another net­work com­pany’s server and took data over two days in Au­gust 2013 to im­press col­leagues with his tech­no­log­i­cal prowess. Wang was de­tained by the po­lice in De­cem­ber and charged with il­le­gally ac­cess­ing com­puter in­for­ma­tion.
