The woman, surnamed Pan, a resident of Cheluo township, ingested the pesticide at about 1 am on Aug 3, feeling she was a burden to her family because of the long-term cost of her medical treatments. She was sent to a local hospital, which abandoned treatment when she seemed near death after more than two hours of emergency treatment. Later, at 7 am, she revived as family members planned her funeral. She is now in stable condition.
