More than half of the ul­tra-high-res­o­lu­tion TVs sol­dworld­wide are­madein China, ac­cord­ing to the SouthKorean news­pa­per Aju Busi­nessDaily, which cited a re­port by Dis­playSearch, a re­search firm that fo­cuses on the dis­play sup­ply chain.

The Chi­nese mar­ket and brands con­tinue to grow rapidly and have be­come driv­ing forces of4KTVs in par­tic­u­lar, the re­port found. TVs with­4Kres­o­lu­tion have a def­i­ni­tion that is four times higher than stan­dard high-def­i­ni­tionTVs.

Six ma­jor Chi­nese brands ac­counted for 51.8 per­cent of the mar­ket for ul­tra-high-def­i­ni­tion TV sales in the first quar­ter, ac­cord­ing to the re­port.
