Mo­bile health­care site gets money to ex­pand

Spring Rain, China’s lead­ing mo­bile health­care com­pany, has fin­ished its Se­ries C fi­nanc­ing to­tal­ing $50 mil­lion, and its reg­is­tered users are ex­pected to to­tal 100 mil­lion by the end of 2015, ac­cord­ing to its CEO.

“The funds will be used for in­creas­ing the num­bers of reg­is­tered users and doc­tors,” said Zhang Rui, CEO of Bei­jing Spring Rain Soft­ware Co Ltd, which spe­cial­izes in a mo­bile health ap­pli­ca­tions.

The site has 30 mil­lion reg­is­tered users and 40,000 signed doc­tors.

Users can ac­cess any doc­tor free for ad­vice, and Spring Rain pays the bill. Ad­vice from a par­tic­u­lar doc­tor costs from 6 yuan (97 cents) to 999 yuan.

China has more than 100 com­pa­nies en­gaged in mo­bile health­care busi­ness or plan­ning to de­velop them.
