Lenovo looking to sell 150 million devices
Lenovo Group Ltd, the world’s largest maker of personal computers, plans to sell 150 million devices in the fiscal year that kicked off in April, chairman and CEO Yang Yuanqing said.
“We are seeking stronger growth in overseas PC markets, especially among high-end customers,” Yang said. The Beijingbased company sold 115 million products globally in the previous fiscal year.
Lenovo’s earnings grew 23 percent year-on-year to $214 million between April and June, according to its financial results. Quarterly revenue totaled $10.4 billion, an 18 percent increase over the same period last year.
Yang told China Daily that Lenovo is reconsidering its tablet business as the product’s highend and low-end market shares have been eroded by laptops and large-screen phones. (Photo 2)
