As­tate­ment on fight­ing cor­rup­tion will be in­cluded in doc­u­ments on the out­comeof the on­go­ing APECmeet­ings, an of­fi­cial said on Thurs­day.

Alan Bol­lard, ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor of the APECSec­re­tariat, said the Beijing State­ment on Anti-cor­rup­tion has been pro­posed by both China and the United States.

Bol­lard said at a news brief­ing that the state­ment will re­sult in a group be­ing set up that could bring en­force­ment agen­cies across the APECre­gion to­gether and al­lowthem to pass in­for­ma­tion about par­tic­u­lar cases to each other.

“This is nec­es­sary for us to track cases across bor­ders within the APECre­gion and even to fol­lowup and re­cover as­sets if they are re­moved il­le­gally,” Bol­lard said.

For­eign Min­is­terWang Yi said onOct 2 that China is ready to en­hance co­op­er­a­tion with theUS on hunt­ing crim­i­nals and re­cov­er­ing money ob­tained il­le­gally.
