Fo­rum ce­ments closer ties be­tween China, South Korea

China and the South Korea are ex­pected to strengthen their eco­nomic and trade co­op­er­a­tion, after 200 top gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials, business lead­ers and schol­ars from both sides ended the three-day China South Korea CEO Fo­rum in Qing­dao, East China’s Shan­dong prov­ince. Par­tic­i­pants said they were look­ing for­ward to ne­wop­por­tu­ni­ties after the two coun­tries con­cluded sub­stan­tive ne­go­ti­a­tions on a free trade agree­ment onMon­day. “The two coun­tries al­ready have co­op­er­a­tion in place at var­i­ous lev­els and in var­i­ous ar­eas re­lated to bi­lat­eral, eco­nomic and trade re­la­tions,” said Sun Shuqiang, coun­selor of the depart­ment of Asian af­fairs of theM­i­nistry of Com­merce.
