Stu­dent makes speak­er­for square dancers

A speaker that re­stricts the sound it gen­er­ates to a spe­cific area has won a sci­en­tific award for the cap­i­tal’s pri­mary and mid­dle school stu­dents, Beijing News re­ported on Mon­day. The speaker, in­vented by Luan Song­wei, an eighth­grader at the Ex­per­i­men­tal High School at­tached to Beijing Nor­mal Univer­sity, is in­tended to re­duce the dis­tur­bance caused by groups danc­ing in pub­lic squares.
