Key policy to focus on more grain security
Grain security will continue to be a key focus area for the government, much like last year, according to the No 1 Central Document, which outlines the government priorities for the agriculture sector. The document also calls for further development of the agricultural sector and said the current target price system would not be extended to other agricultural products. The rural land transfer scheme will be controlled within an adequate limit, it said. Other priority areas include assistance and protection for agriculture, farmers’ income, the farming environment, the national food security system and rural governance, as well as the price gap between certain crops in the international and domestic markets. It has been the 12th consecutive year for theNo 1 Central Document issued by the central government to focus on rural issues and agricultural development.
