Firm to bid again for Mexico rail project

China Daily (Canada) - - FRONT PAGE -

The State-owned firm that led a canceled bid for a $3.75 billion high-speed rail contract inMexico plans to re-tender for the project again, a government agency said onWednesday. Mexico in early November had abruptly canceled a successful bid from a Chinese-Mexican consortium just days after it was awarded, amid questions over the legality and transparency of the process. China Railway Construction, that led the previous bid, will re-enter the bidding which starts on Jan 14, said the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, which manages State firms.
