CRCC ‘still on track’ for $3.75b Mex­ico project

China Rail­way Con­struc­tion Corp looks set to win a con­tract to build a $3.75 bil­lionMex­i­can high-speed train sys­tem, even though its orig­i­nal win­ning bid was re­voked, said sources with knowl­edge of the bid­ding process. Mex­ico was ex­pected on Wed­nes­day to re­veal the fresh bid terms for the project link­ingMex­ico City with the in­dus­trial city of Quere­taro, which was meant to be one of Mex­i­can Pres­i­dent En­rique Pena Ni­eto’s flag­ship in­fra­struc­ture in­vest­ments. CRCC said it was con­fi­dent of win­ning. In the ini­tial ten­der, State­backed lender Ex­port-Im­port Bank of China agreed to fi­nance 85 per­cent of the project.
