New home prices in ma­jor cities rise

New home prices in ma­jor Chi­nese cities rose month-on­month in June for the sec­ond straight month, a pri­vate sur­vey showed.

The av­er­age price in 100 cities rose 0.56 per­cent month-on­month to 10,628 yuan ($1,715) per square me­ter, ac­cord­ing to the China In­dex Academy, an in­de­pen­dent re­sear chin­sti­tute fo­cus­ing on the hous­ing in­dus­try.

Home prices in Shen­zhen, Guang­dong province, have risen to record lev­els, helped by lim­ited sup­plies and fur­ther re­lax­ations in pur­chase poli­cies. Shen­zhen led all cities in terms of hous­ing price in­creases dur­ing the past six months, with new residential prop­erty prices surg­ing by 6.58 per­cent in June from a month ear­lier.
