En­vi­ron­men­tal di­rec­tor probed

A se­nior en­vi­ron­men­tal pro­tec­tion of­fi­cial has been placed un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion, China’s top dis­ci­plinary watchdog said onWed­nes­day. Xiong Yue­hui, di­rec­tor of sci­en­tific stan­dards on emis­sions at theMin­istry of En­vi­ron­men­tal Pro­tec­tion, is be­ing in­ves­ti­gated on sus­pi­cion of dis­ci­plinary and lawvi­o­la­tions, ac­cord­ing to a state­ment re­leased by the Cen­tral Com­mis­sion for Dis­ci­pline In­spec­tion of the Com­mu­nist Party of China. Such ac­cu­sa­tions typ­i­cally re­fer to cor­rup­tion.
