Tourist sites impose caps during holiday period
The week- long National Day holiday that began on Oct 1 ended on Wednesday and a number of tourist sites used a range of measures to avoid overcrowding.
The Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, in Beijing stopped selling tickets after it received its daily maximum of 80,000 tourists. The Temple of Heaven received 58,000 visitors, while the Badaling Great Wall saw 25,000.
Having experienced huge holiday crowds for several years, Jiuzhaigou Valley in Sichuan province, one of China’s top attractions, announced a daily cap of 41,000.
