Leaders of overseas Chinese groups in Canada read the “Peace Initiative” to commemorate victims of the Nanjing Massacre on Dec 13 in Toronto. More than 200 people including officials from Canadian government attended the event. On the same day in 1937, Japanese troops invaded then Chinese capital Nanjing and in the next six weeks, more than 300,000 Chinese civilians and soldiers were killed and at least 20,000 women raped.
