Traf­fic con­ges­tion proves costly in Bei­jing

Bei­jingers av­er­agely lost as much as 7,972 yuan ($1,210) on traf­fic con­ges­tion in 2015, the coun­try’s most, said a re­port onWed­nes­day. Ac­cord­ing to the re­port pub­lished by DidiKuaidi, China’s largest ride-hail­ing ap­pli­ca­tion and its part­ners, Bei­jingers on av­er­age spent 52 min­utes trav­el­ling for 19.2 kilo­me­ters ev­ery day be­tween home and of­fice, rank­ing the top in China. White-col­lar work­ers in China’s mega cities— Bei­jing, Guangzhou, Shen­zhen and Shang­hai, are those who lost most money to traf­fic con­ges­tion in 2015, said the re­port.
