Viet­nam to see 5-year high CPI in April

the chem­i­cals in­dus­try re­ported a clear im­prove­ment over last month. Viet­nam’s con­sumer price in­dex is ex­pected to see a hike of 0.33 per­cent in April against the pre­vi­ous month, the high­est in­crease of April CPI in the past five years, ac­cord­ing to Viet­nam’s Gen­eral Statistics Of­fice. Ac­cord­ingly, the coun­try’s April CPI is fore­cast to go up 1.89 per­cent yearon-year. Since De­cem­ber 2015, the CPI is es­ti­mated to in­crease 1.33 per­cent. Of 11 items in the CPI cal­cu­la­tion bas­ket in April, eight groups are fore­cast to have prices climbed com­pared with­March.
