Qi­hoo 360 gives up med­i­cal ad­ver­tise­ment

China’s sec­ond-largest on­line search com­pany Qi­hoo 360 Tech­nol­ogy Co an­nounced that it has stopped ad­ver­tis­ing med­i­cal in­for­ma­tion re­lated to con­sumers as of Tues­day fol­low­ing Baidu Inc’s paid list­ing scan­dal. Qi­hoo 360 said as long as on­line med­i­cal ad­ver­tise­ments ex­ist, it is im­pos­si­ble to root out the false in­for­ma­tion sent out by un­qual­i­fied med­i­cal in­sti­tu­tions, which makes it dif­fi­cult to pro­tect its users from be­ing hurt by mis­lead­ing med­i­cal in­for­ma­tion.
