China helps keep NZ in trade sur­plus

Ris­ing de­mand from China helped off­set fall­ing dairy prices and keep NewZealand’s trade in sur­plus last month, ac­cord­ing to the gov­ern­ment sta­tis­tics agency Statis­tic­sNew Zealand. Ex­ports rose 4 per­cent year-on-year in April to NZ$4.3 bil­lion ($2.91 bil­lion), led by an in­crease of 16 per­cent, or NZ$59 mil­lion, in the value of fruit ex­ports. The value of dairy ex­ports fell by a sim­i­lar amount.
