China Daily (Canada) - - BUSINESS -

Indonesia’s consumer prices accelerated at the slowest pace since 2009 inMay as food prices declined, giving room for its central bank to trim its benchmark interest rate this month. The National Statistic Bureau said the consumer price index dropped to 3.33 percent from a year earlier, compared with 3.6 percent in April. Officials said the prices of rice, tomato, and chilly, witnessed deflation, but that houses prices, and the cost of electricity and water were in check.
