NZ sees sus­tained rise of tourism sec­tor

New Zealand con­tin­ued to see ex­tended high sea­son in­May, tourism au­thor­i­ties said onWed­nes­day. The coun­try reg­is­tered a steady rise in tourist ar­rivals with year-to­date in­ter­na­tional vis­i­tor growth of 10.6 per­cent com­pared with the pre­vi­ous 12 months. Au­thor­i­ties re­ported that Tourism New Zealand’s pri­or­i­tized top six mar­kets showed hol­i­day growth of be­tween 9.1 per­cent from Aus­tralia to 31.4 per­cent from China. Tourism New Zealand’s Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Kevin Bowler said he sees the fig­ures as a con­fir­ma­tion of a suc­cess­ful au­tumn tourism pe­riod.
