Disney declines to comment on new park rumor

China Daily (Canada) - - NEWS CAPSULE -

Disney refused to comment on a rumor that the company planned to build another theme park in western China, saying its focus was on its new Shanghai resort, according to a newspaper report.

“With regard to the groundless speculation and rumor, we have no comment,’’ the Chongqing Morning Post cited Disney as saying.

On June 23, a rumor about plans for a second Disney theme park in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, went viral online, with two attached documents alleged to have been issued by Chengdu authorities, which later said they had never heard of the plan.

An eerily lifelike robotic beauty dressed in traditional Chinese style attracted quite a bit of attention at the 2016 Summer Davos Forum in Tianjin. The robot, named Jia Jia, is the same size as a real person. It has delicate facial features and intricate details.
