Panda gives birth to twins again

Gi­ant panda Mao­mao, the model for Jingjing, mas­cot of the 2008 Bei­jing Olympics, gave birth to fe­male twins on Tues­day morn­ing at the Chengdu Re­search Base of Gi­ant Panda Breed­ing.

The two cubs, which weighed 129 grams and 145.1 grams re­spec­tively, and the mother are all in good con­di­tion, said a source from the cen­ter in Chengdu, capital of South­west China’s Sichuan prov­ince.

Mao­mao also give birth to twin cubs on July 26, 2014, named Maozhu and Mao­sun.

The mother panda, born on Sept 6, 2003, be­came world fa­mous when it in­spired the cre­ation of one of five mas­cots for the Bei­jing Olympics.
