China Daily (Canada) - - BUSINESS -

The digital economy is driving a boom in the NewZealand music industry, government ministers said onWednesday. An industry-commissioned report from PricewaterhouseCoopers found music made a direct contribution to the New Zealand economy of NZ$245 million ($180.71 million) last year, up from NZ$213 million in 2014, said Broadcasting MinisterAmy Adams and Arts, Culture andHeritageMinister Maggie Barry. “It’s incredibly encouraging to see such a positive year for the NewZealand music industry, with four out of five market segments recording increased growth rates,” Adams said in a statement.
