In­done­sia reg­is­ters lower trade sur­plus

In­done­sia regis­tered a 6.17 per­cent de­cline in ex­ports to $12.57 bil­lion and a trade sur­plus of $1.32 bil­lion in Fe­bru­ary, a se­nior of­fi­cial at In­done­sia’s cen­tral sta­tis­tics agency said onWed­nes­day. Speak­ing at a news con­fer­ence held in his of­fice, Head of BPS Suhariyanto said the ex­port fig­ure in Fe­bru­ary this year was lower than $13.40 bil­lion a month ear­lier, but 11.16 per­cent higher than it was in cor­re­spond­ing pe­riod last year. He added that nonoil and gas com­modi­ties took up most of In­done­sia’s ex­port at $11.38 bil­lion through­out last month.
