Wal-mart China donated 10.5 million yuan ($1.52 million) in late April to the RaiseHer Business Plan launched by the ChinaWomen’s Development Foundation. The program targets women from povertystricken areas, female entrepreneurs of small startups and businesswomen. Under it, online and offline training classes about job hunting, social responsibility and entrepreneurship will be held among those groups. The company will also provide financing for innovative projects put forward by rural women and in June investigate the challenges working mothers face in developed cities.
