FDI increases 17.3 percent in September
Foreign direct investment (FDI) into the Chinese mainland rose 17.3 percent year-on-year to reach $10.7 billion last month, data showed.
The growth accelerated from 9.1-percent in August, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
In the first nine months, the FDI inflow edged up 1.6 percent compared with a 0.2-percent drop in the January-August period.
FDI in the manufacturing sector rebounded while hightech manufacturing and service industries maintained strong growth momentum.
In the first nine months, the manufacturing sector was up 7.5 percent year-on-year, accounting for nearly 30 percent of the total FDI.
The service sector drew 69.2 percent of the total. Production and supply of power, gas and water rose 82.9 percent year-onyear. The high-tech manufacturing sector increased 27.5 percent year-on-year. The high-tech service industry was up 24 percent year-on-year.
