Air­port opens in famed liquor town

An air­port named after China’s national liquor, Moutai, opened in the city of Ren­huai, Guizhou prov­ince, the Moutai Group said. Moutai Air­port is lo­cated in the city’s Moutai town­ship. From the air­port, planes con­nect to cities in­clud­ing Bei­jing, Tian­jin, Chengdu, Fuzhou, Xi’an and Haikou. Con­struc­tion of the air­port cost 2.4 bil­lion yuan ($363 mil­lion; 312 mil­lion eu­ros; £273 mil­lion) and took five years. Air routes will be ex­panded to a to­tal of 18 cities in the near fu­ture, the group said.
