Customs busts frozen food smuggling gang
Customs officials in Jiangsu province said on Jan 2 they had caught a gang suspected of smuggling frozen food valued at 200 million yuan ($31 million). Four people have been detained. The gang had allegedly smuggled 8,000 metric tons of frozen shrimp, cuttlefish and fish fillets since July 2013. The food is believed to have been brought in via the China-Vietnam border and sold in Wuxi and Suzhou, a Nanjing customs official said.
