The world’s top spe­cial­ist in this fast grow­ing sport, Thomas Dold from Ger­many, was crowned the men’s group cham­pion when he took 9 min­utes and 55 sec­onds to climb 82 floors, or 2,041 stairs, in Bei­jing’s 330-me­ter-high China World Sum­mit Wing and took home the win­ning prize of $1,000.
