Stocks ex­tend win­ning streak

Hong Kong stocks rose, ex­tend­ing the bench­mark in­dex’s long­est weekly win­ning streak since Oc­to­ber, af­ter the main­land’s ser­vices in­dus­try ac­cel­er­ated for the first time since March in a sign the econ­omy is sta­bi­liz­ing. Bios­time In­ter­na­tional Hold­ings Ltd, a sup­plier of baby prod­ucts, surged 9.8 per­cent af­ter the main­land halted im­ports from New Zealand’s Fon­terra Co­op­er­a­tive Group Ltd on con­cern its milk pow­der is con­tam­i­nated. The Hang Seng In­dex gained 0.1 per­cent to close at 22,222.01, af­ter cap­ping a six-week ad­vance on Aug 2. Half the shares on the 50-mem­ber gauge climbed.
