Six­ers want Brown to coach

The Philadel­phia 76ers of­fered Brett Brown their head coach­ing job and the two par­ties are in con­tract ne­go­ti­a­tions, Ya­hoo! Sports re­ported on Fri­day. Brown has been an as­sis­tant coach with the San An­to­nio Spurs for the past seven years. He was the Spurs di­rec­tor of player de­vel­op­ment from 200206. Brown was ex­pected to be pro­moted to lead as­sis­tant for the Spurs af­ter Mike Bu­den­holzer left to coach the At­lanta Hawks ear­lier this sum­mer.
