A 67-year-old man was killed in a fatal light rail accident in Tin Shui Wai on Monday morning. The accident occurred at 8:55 am when a light rail train was travelling along Tin Yiu Road to Tin Yat Station. When approaching Tin Wu Road, the train reportedly knocked down the 67-year-old man who was crossing the light rail pedestrian crossing. The man sustained serious injuries and was certified dead at the scene. Police said that the victim was dragged 50 meters before the train stopped. It couldn’t be concluded at this point if he had jumped red light when crossing the road. The site is not an accident black spot.
