Thai­land has in­vited for­eign di­plo­mats in the county to ob­serve the way se­cu­rity forces han­dle a mas­sive antigov­ern­ment rally on Mon­day, dubbed “the fi­nal bat­tle”.

The di­plo­mats will see for them­selves that the govern­ment plans to use peace­ful mea­sures that do not in­volve weapons and that live up to in­ter­na­tional stan­dards, said Paradorn Pat­tanatabutr, chief of the Na­tional Se­cu­rity Coun­cil.

The di­plo­mats will meet at the For­eign Min­istry be­fore head­ing to Govern­ment House, where the mas­sive rally is ex­pected to take place on Mon­day morn­ing.

Do­mes­tic and for­eign me­dia have also been in­vited, ac­cord­ing to Paradorn.

Di­plo­mats from about 60 coun­tries have been in­vited, and about 30 coun­tries have ac­cepted.
