Ru­ral doc­tors to re­ceive train­ing

Ru­ral doc­tors will re­ceive free med­i­cal train­ing of at least two weeks at least twice a year, China Cen­tral Tele­vi­sion re­ported on Sun­day. Ru­ral doc­tors are farm­ers who re­ceive min­i­mal med­i­cal and paramed­i­cal train­ing and of­fer ba­sic med­i­cal ser­vices in vil­lages. China has 1.03 mil­lion ru­ral doc­tors, and only 170,000 are qual­i­fied as med­i­cal prac­ti­tion­ers.
