Phone locking to be investigated

China Daily (Hong Kong) - - NATION | DIGEST -

The Court of Appeal ruled that Communications Authority (CA) should look into PCCW-HKT’s complaint about Apple’s SIM locking practices. Hong Kong Telecommunications (HKT), the operator of PCCW-HKT, filed the complaint with CA in September last year because the iPhone 5’s locking prevented its subscribers from accessing its fourthgeneration wireless. But CA took four months before declaring it needs more data to investigate the alleged breach of competition rules. HKT took the case to the CA appeal board, but it was rejected.
