Zoo ad­dresses safety pro­ce­dures af­ter death

The Shang­hai Zoo held a meet­ing to ad­dress safety gaps and to stan­dard­ize op­er­a­tions on Wed­nes­day, af­ter a keeper was fa­tally attacked by a South China tiger the pre­vi­ous day, Bei­jing News re­ported. The 9-yearold tiger is still at the zoo’s breed­ing site, where it fa­tally mauled vet­eran keeper Zhou Jian­hua, 57, when he was clean­ing its cage.
