Memo­ri­als held for Locker­bie

A me­mo­rial ser­vice was held on Satur­day in Locker­bie, Scot­land, to mark the 25th an­niver­sary of the bomb­ing of Pan Am Flight 103. The jet­liner was on its way from Lon­don to New York when it ex­ploded above Locker­bie on Dec 21, 1988, killing all 259 peo­ple on board and 11 on the ground. Si­mul­ta­ne­ous re­mem­brance ser­vices were held at West­min­ster Abbey in Lon­don and Ar­ling­ton Na­tional Ceme­tery in the US state of Vir­ginia, where most of the vic­tims were from.
