19 probed over high­way ac­ci­dent

Nine­teen peo­ple may face crim­i­nal charges for their roles in a col­li­sion on a high­way that killed 21 peo­ple and in­jured 11 oth­ers on Sept 25 last year, a re­port said on Thurs­day. The in­ci­dent, which in­volved a semi­trailer col­lid­ing with a coach, oc­curred on a Hunan sec­tion of the high­way link­ing Shang­hai and Kun­ming in Yun­nan prov­ince. In ad­di­tion to the driver of the semi­trailer, those who are be­ing in­ves­ti­gated by lo­cal ju­di­cial au­thor­i­ties in­clude man­agers of a road trans­porta­tion com­pany that owned the semi­trailer and of­fi­cers of lo­cal ve­hi­cle man­age­ment sta­tions.
