10,000 stranded at Chengdu air­port

More than 10,000 pas­sen­gers have been stranded at an air­port in Chengdu since Wed­nes­day night, as flights have been de­layed or can­celed due to heavy fog. The city re­ported that heavy fog was af­fect­ing vis­i­bil­ity at about 11 pm, and as of Thurs­day noon it had not cleared. The run­way was closed for nearly eight hours and lim­ited op­er­a­tions be­gan at 8 am on Thurs­day. Ac­cord­ing to Chengdu Shuan­gliu In­ter­na­tional Air­port, 102 flights had been can­celed as of 8 am, strand­ing more than 10,000 pas­sen­gers.
