Fish­er­man hailed as Good Sa­mar­i­tan

A 60-year-old fish­er­man in Hechuan district who has saved dozens of peo­ple from drown­ing over the past three decades has been hon­ored for his brav­ery. Chen Dafu started work­ing on the Fu­jiang River in 1988, and has been sav­ing peo­ple who have fallen the wa­ter in ever since. He has never sought ac­claim for his ac­tions, in­stead fo­cus­ing on car­ing for his wife, who has can­cer. He was re­cently named a model Good Sa­mar­i­tan.
