Li Yanzu is a professor and supervisor of PhD candidates at the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University and director of Arts & Crafts Research Institute. He has been conferred distinguished professor status by the government of Jiangxi province, where he teaches in different universities. Li also supervises PhD candidates at the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, and is the president of its School of Archaeology and Museol- ogy. He is also a vice-president of the aesthetics association under the Beijing Association for Science and Technology, besides being vice-president of the tourism artifacts department of China National Arts and Crafts Society. He is a member of the China Artists Association, China National Society of Aesthetics, and China National Arts and Crafts Society. Li has whole-heartedly dedicated his life to the cultivation of artistic excellence in dif- ferent fields, including ceramic crafts and design. His creations have been collected by private and public institutions as well as by individuals.
Li won the inaugural National Award for Distinguished Teacher in 2003, sponsored by the Ministry of Education. He also has received the Award for Distinguished Teacher in Beijing and Tsinghua University Teaching Award. He is entitled to a special allowance given by the State Council.
