Flamengo focused on Conca loan
Rio de Janeiro giant Flamengo is reportedly in talks with Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG to acquire Argentine midfielder Dario Conca on a loan. The 33-yearold has not played since sustaing a knee injury in SIPG’s 4 -1 win over Shijiazhuang Ever Bright in August. He is not expected to return to action until March.
According to Brazilian newspaper Uol Esporte, Conca is keen to return to Rio, where he represented Flamengo’s rivals Fluminense in two separate spells.
Under terms of the proposed one-year loan, Flamengo would only need to pay Conca’s salary, expected to be less than half that of his current deal, reportedly worth around $11 million a year.
