China Mobile to unveil 5G investment strategy
Dongzhi, or winter solstice, will fall on Wednesday. It marks the shortest day and the longest night. As one of the 24 solar terms according to China’s traditional lunar calendar, Dongzhi is considered an important occasion, and many people celebrate it as a festival. From the day after Dongzhi, the days start to get longer. For people in Northern China, it is a tradition to eat dumplings on the day. China Mobile Communications Corp, the world’s largest telecom carrier by subscribers, will hold the China Mobile Global Partners Conference in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, from Monday to Wednesday. During the conference, the company will unveil its business plan for next year, including it’s investment strategy in the emerging 5G mobile technology. As of October, China Mobile had about 850 million subscribers.
