China Mo­bile to un­veil 5G in­vest­ment strat­egy

Dongzhi, or win­ter sol­stice, will fall on Wed­nes­day. It marks the short­est day and the long­est night. As one of the 24 so­lar terms ac­cord­ing to China’s tra­di­tional lu­nar cal­en­dar, Dongzhi is con­sid­ered an im­por­tant oc­ca­sion, and many peo­ple cel­e­brate it as a fes­ti­val. From the day af­ter Dongzhi, the days start to get longer. For peo­ple in North­ern China, it is a tra­di­tion to eat dumplings on the day. China Mo­bile Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Corp, the world’s largest tele­com car­rier by sub­scribers, will hold the China Mo­bile Global Part­ners Con­fer­ence in Guangzhou, Guang­dong prov­ince, from Monday to Wed­nes­day. Dur­ing the con­fer­ence, the com­pany will un­veil its busi­ness plan for next year, in­clud­ing it’s in­vest­ment strat­egy in the emerg­ing 5G mo­bile tech­nol­ogy. As of Oc­to­ber, China Mo­bile had about 850 mil­lion sub­scribers.
