Rapid technological developments have brought dramatic changes to our way of living.
Last month, the 13th China International Design Expo in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, showcased the latest products from a number of industries. The theme of the show was “Better Design, Better Future,” and it indeed highlighted how new technologies are being applied to industrial designing.
From robotic cleaning to automated cooking, many Chinese families are already enjoying the new smart home experience.
In some communities, residents have also installed smart door control systems, which can be operated with QR codes via mobile apps.
China began building smart communities a year ago, following a proposal by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development that more than 50 percent of all residential communities should be constructed in a smart way by 2020.
It defined a smart community as leveraging information technology to integrate resources to better serve the residents and enable environmental sustainability.
Since then, China’s growing urban population has been motivating companies to focus on new products, putting the smart home program on a fast track.
