Viet­nam en­joys trade sur­plus of $2.59 bil­lion

Viet­nam’s trade sur­plus hit over $2.59 bil­lion as of mid-De­cem­ber 2016, said the lat­est data re­leased by Viet­nam Cus­toms on Thurs­day. Since the be­gin­ning of this year to mid-De­cem­ber, the coun­try’s to­tal im­port-ex­port rev­enue reached nearly $333.06 bil­lion, up 6.4 per­cent year-on-year. As of the end of Dec 15, the coun­try earned some $167.83 bil­lion from ex­ports, up 8.5 per­cent year-on-year. Among which, the for­eign di­rect in­vest­ment sec­tor had ex­port rev­enue of over $117.99 bil­lion, up 11.5 per­cent year-on-year, ac­count­ing for 70.3 per­cent of the na­tional to­tal ex­port rev­enue.
