In­creased progress in struc­tural re­form

China’s in­creased progress in struc­tural re­form will en­able Bei­jing to achieve its an­nual growth tar­get in the com­ing years, a se­nior econ­o­mist with the Asian De­vel­op­ment Bank said. Zhuang Juzhong, deputy chief econ­o­mist at the ADB, made the com­ments in an in­ter­view with Xinhua News Agency. He noted that China has made “very en­cour­ag­ing” progress in phas­ing out ex­cess ca­pac­ity. Phas­ing out ex­cess in­dus­trial ca­pac­ity prop­erly was made a clear pri­or­ity in the Govern­ment Work Re­port in March.
